Fall 2012 Sneak Peeks!

Here's an exclusive sneak peek of some of our upcoming books for Fall 2012. Add them to your to-read list now, and look for them on our website next month!

Enemy Territory
From the author of Thunder Over Kandahar comes another fast-paced novel set in dangerous territory. Sharon McKay skillfully weaves the tale of two patients stuck in a Jerusalem hospital: Sam, an Israeli boy whose leg may have to be amputated, and Yusuf, a Palestinian boy who has lost his left eye. They don't exactly get along, but when they decide to escape the hospital and go on a late-night adventure into the Old City, they find themselves having to protect one another nonetheless...

The Lynching of Louie Sam
Another hard-hitting tale is The Lynching of Louie Sam, a powerful debut novel from author Elizabeth Stewart. The story is told through the eyes of fifteen-year-old George Gillies, who lives with his family in Washington Territory. It's the late 1800s, and white settlers have an uneasy relationship with their Native American neighbors. When a local man is found murdered, suspicion falls on Louie Sam, a young member of the Stó:lō tribe. George and his best friend, Pete, secretly follow a lynch mob (which includes their fathers) north into Canada, where the terrified Louie Sam is seized and hung.

Racked with doubts, George begins to ask questions. Was Louie Sam really a murderer? As George starts to uncover the truth, tensions in the town rise, and he must face his own part in the tragedy.

The Lynching of Louie Sam is based on a true story: read more about it here.
Keep your eye out for more news on both of these suspenseful tales, and look for them on bookshelves this fall (e-book editions will also be available!).
