Carolyn Hart at Storytime Standouts recently recommended a few picture books that celebrate mothers. One was our book Bright Red Kisses, about a daughter helping her mom get ready to go out for a night on the town.
We thought picture books for Mother's Day was a great idea, so here's another:
A Pocket Can Have a Treasure in It, in which a young girl discovers the magic of everyday things. A barn can have a horse in it. A pond can have a boat in it. "Can a blanket have a wiggle in it?" she asks when her parents return home from the hospital. The answer is "yes!"--and it's a brand new baby.
